English Division [hybrydowe]

Updated for the year 2020/2021

Information for ED students (IV year)

Pediatric Otolaryngology classes take place in the Pediatric Otolaryngology Department at the MUW Children’s Hospital, Żwirki i Wigury 63a. There are three days of classes from Monday to Wednesday, and are organised as follows:

- Each group is split into 3 teams: A, B and C.

- Each team has a different assignment for each day of classes.

- The three different assignments are: practical class in the Department, on-line case-based lesson via Teams and own work on the e-learning course.

-  Each student group will be contacted before the classes, the split onto 3 teams will be made and the schedule for particular teams will be given via e-mail.

Practical classes in the Department: There is a separate entrance for students to the hospital (see: map below). Students are asked to leave their coats in the cloakroom (level -1) and come to the Pediatric Otolaryngology Department seminar room (level 4, room 4H 060) at 10:45. Students will be asked to fill out a questionnaire regarding infection symptoms etc. before the classes start. Practical classes will be conducted in small (1-2 student) groups with teachers. The classes finish at 13:00.

The epidemiological questionnaire must be filled out before practical class and delivered (on paper or digitally) to the Clinic before the class.

On-line case-based lesson: Students need to have access to their @wum.onmicrosoft.com account and will be added to their respective study team beforehand. The on-line class starts at 10:45 and ends at 13:00.

The final exam will be taking place at the end of the semester and contains questions from Otolaryngology and Pediatric Otolaryngology.

"Pedaitric Otolaryngology" is a separate subject from "Otolaryngology", in a separate department. It is absolutely essential that you always make arrangements for both subject, in both department offices. (I.e. changing your group from 1 to 2 for Otolaryngology classes does not mean that you will automatically appear on the list of group 2 in Pedaitric Otolaryngology).
